About this traineeship

A waterproofing apprenticeship qualifies you as a construction waterproofer, a specialist trade that protects buildings from water damage on both interior and exterior surfaces. Every residential and commercial building needs waterproofing done right, which means skilled waterproofers are always in demand.

You’ll learn on real construction sites working alongside qualified tradies who’ll teach you the skills you actually need. Everthought’s trainers visit your worksite to check your progress and assess your competency, and you can complete the theory online in your own time, no classroom required.

At the end of your apprenticeship you’ll hold a CPC31420 Certificate III in Construction Waterproofing, setting you up for a long career in a specialist trade. This qualification is delivered as an apprenticeship in Queensland and a traineeship in New South Wales.

Please note: A White Card is required before entering a construction site. This is not included in the course but can be completed separately before you start.

The CPC31420 Certificate III in Construction Waterproofing covers everything from handling waterproofing materials and preparing surfaces through to applying waterproofing systems across below ground, internal, and external areas. You’ll learn by doing, working alongside experienced waterproofers on real construction sites every day.

Your training covers the practical waterproofing skills you’ll use on construction sites across Queensland and New South Wales:

  • Preparing surfaces for waterproofing application on residential and commercial projects
  • Applying waterproofing processes to below ground level wet areas
  • Applying waterproofing processes to internal wet areas
  • Applying waterproofing processes to above-ground external wet areas
