Become a Trainer and Assessor with Everthought

If you’re trade-qualified and thinking about getting off the tools, we want to hear from you. We’re looking for experienced tradies to train and assess students on campus in Brisbane and Perth, or visit apprentices out on job sites across QLD, WA and NSW.

About this role
What you’ll do
Trades we’re recruiting for

Stay in the industry you love

Training keeps you connected to the trade without the physical toll of being on the tools every day.

Keep your industry connections

Working across job sites means you stay plugged into the industry, not stuck in a classroom.

Train in the field or on campus

Not all trainer and assessor roles are classroom-based. Some of our trainers visit apprentices out on real construction sites across QLD, WA and NSW, assessing their progress in the actual environments they work in every day.

About the role

As a trainer and assessor at Everthought, you work directly with apprentices and students to help them build the practical skills and knowledge they need to complete their qualification.

Depending on the role, that might mean delivering hands-on training sessions at one of our campuses in Brisbane or Perth, or travelling to apprentices’ job sites across QLD, WA and NSW to observe and assess their progress. Some trainers and assessors do both.

Day to day, you’d be delivering training sessions, assessing student competency, recording results, and giving feedback that helps students improve and stay on track.

To deliver and assess nationally recognised training in Australia, you need the TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. This is an ASQA regulatory requirement that applies to all RTOs.

If you don’t hold it yet, that doesn’t necessarily mean the door is closed. We’re open to supporting the right person to get there, in some cases you may be able to start working under the supervision of a qualified trainer and assessor while you complete your TAE.

What you do need from day one is your trade qualification and solid, current industry experience. You can only train in what you know.

How long does the Certificate III in Construction Waterproofing take to complete?

A minimum of 2 years, depending on your employer and progress. Our workplace training model means you’re building competency on the job the whole time, which keeps things moving.

Absolutely. There’s no upper age limit. We work with school leavers, career changers, and people re-entering the workforce. If you want to get into waterproofing, we can help make it happen.
