Everthought employs a specific strategy for the delivery of assessment services via Recognition of Prior Learning. RPL and RCC will be offered to all student for any unit where they can provide sufficient evidence of previous training and/or industry experience. RPL Candidates will be guided by an assessor through the self-assessment and workplace evidence gathering process. Candidates will engage with the assessor in a competency conversation to determine underpinning knowledge and workplace referees will provide reference in regard to the candidate’s on-the-job performance.

Entry Requirements:

• Minimum working age
• White Card (General Construction Induction) or SOA CPCCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry or equivalent unit CPCCOHS1001A Prepare to work safely in the construction industry
• Access to tools and equipment as per FERC
• Completion of LLN Assessment (not necessarily a barrier to entry)
• Registered apprenticeship

Western Australia Apprentices and Trainees – DTWD

Students in Western Australia wishing to enrol into an apprenticeship or traineeship pathway may be eligible for funding under the Western Australia Department of Training and Workforce Development’s Apprenticeship Office. The Office registers and administers training contracts and regulates the apprenticeship system in Western Australia, in accordance with Part 7 of the Vocational Education and Training Act 1996 (the Act) and the associated Regulations.

A training contract is a legally binding agreement between the employer and the apprentice or trainee. In signing the training contract, both parties are bound by certain obligations expressed in the contract. The training contract sets out the terms of the apprenticeship or traineeship, which are agreed to by both the employer and the apprentice or trainee, such as:

• the qualification the apprentice or trainee is working towards;
• the nominal term of the apprenticeship or traineeship;
• the number of hours in training and employment provided each week; and
• arrangements for on and off the job training.
